Advanced Carbon/Carbon Thermal Protection Materials— Variable cross-section multi-dimensional woven materials for carbon/carbon screws are suitable for high temperature parts of carbon/carbon composites. Experts at the meeting believed that the performance of carbon/carbon screws, variable-section three-dimensional braided parts, and pin three-dimensional braided preforms developed by Tianjin Polytechnic University exceeded the requirements of the mission book. The product production process is original, advanced and practical. It can replace the high-temperature alloy products for the assembly and fixation of the carbon/carbon composite expansion section, has excellent high-temperature compatibility, and improves the operational reliability of the rocket engine. The successful development of variable cross-section three-dimensional braided carbon/carbon composite screws and pins has filled the gaps in China's carbon/carbon composite three-dimensional shaped integral braided screws and pins, and has reached the international advanced level.
Carbon/carbon composite bolts and pins are advanced, high-performance connectors that are not only in complete conformity with the thermal properties of rocket engine carbon/carbon composite components, but also have outstanding characteristics that do not reduce strength at temperatures of a few thousand degrees Celsius. The successful development of carbon/carbon composite bolts and pins has provided another new material with high strength, light weight, and high temperature resistance for China's aerospace industry.
